Here's what we've done -
- New Early Retirement Reduction Factor (ERRF) for Plans 2 & 3 with full benefits at age 62 with 30 years of service (reduced from age 65) and reduced penalties below age 62, ie. 95% pension at age 60 with 30 years of service. Effective July 2008 for PERS and September 2008 for TRS and SERS.
- Final Gain-sharing distribution on January 1, 2008 for Plan 3 = $270.69 times years of service depositied in their defined contribution accounts.
- Plan 3 members are now vested after five years of service, with at least one year of service after age 44.
Here's what we need to do
- Removal of Plan 2 & 3 post-retirement restrictions placed on those who utilize the new ERRF.
- Plans 2 & 3 full retirement at age 60 with 30 years of service.
- Plan 2 access to PEBB medical plans upon separation from service, at age 55 with 20 years of service.
- Plan 3 vesting after five years of service, without age restriction.
