College Scholarships

Each year WSSRA presents scholarships to selected high schools students who are committed to entering the teaching profession.

The PEMCO Foundation, Inc. grants 16 Robert J. Handy Scholarships (founder of the WA State Teacher's Credit Union later expanded to become PEMCO) in the amount of $900 per year, renewable for a total of four years.

The WSSR-Foundation grants 8 scholarships for $1,500 each for one year only.

Additionally two scholarships, the Don and Myrtle Bunt Scholarship and the Neil D. Prescott Scholarship, will also be awarded.

Applications are available online, as they are no longer mailed to the schools.

Completed forms must be postmarked by March 1, 2012.

Unit 21 will have members on the committee that reviews and selects the winners of these scholarships.
